I became a Canadian Citizen in May of 2013. It was the end of a long process and a moment to celebrate. I found out the day of my ceremony that all new citizens qualify for a card called a cultural access pass. They didn't explain it at that cermony, but I am a real lover of freebies so I looked it up and decided to request it immediately. It's pretty awesome. We get free access to hundreds of museums across Canada, for ourselves and our children for exactly one year from the day you become a citizen. So I'm on a mission to see as many museums and parks across Canada as possible during these 12 months. You can see me and my daughter at my citizenship ceremony here.
